Swarnim Bharat, Virasat aur Vikas.

Infused with the spirit of pride, solidarity and jubilation, Raja Rammohan Roy Academy, Dehradun  celebrated the 76^th Republic Day of India on the theme of Swarnim Bharat, Virasat aur  Vikas.  The bright and sunny morning began with the unfurling of the flag, by the Principal , Ms. Bharti Vishnoi, which was followed by the National Anthem.

The celebrations began with a speech by Christy, emphasizing on  new Bharat and our unique culture. This was followed by an act and a  snapshot on life of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel- A barrister, a visionary and leader ahead of his times.

The school spirit united, through the Inter house folk dance competition showcasing different hues of Indian culture. Dandiya raas was full of zest and colours of Gujarat, Harvest dance had harmony and balance which was quite graceful. Bhangra dance was full of enthusiasm and energy and Bihu dance  united us together sharing the spirit of the celebration.

The results brought in  a surprise of tie for the first position between Aravalli and Vindhya house! Third position was bagged by Satpura house in a close call. Up ahead was ,an informative and captivating Nukkad Natak by Grade 8,  resonated on the Stay Vigilant Online message, to bring awareness on the ongoing digital scams with a light hearted note and apt information about how to be safe and secure from strangers online.

A Thought provoking speech by Ayushman Khatri was followed by the soulful melody of Ae Watan  that was sung by the school choir instilling the patriotic feeling further.

 The students performances concluded with an inspiring speech by the Principal, Ms. Bharti Vishnoi. She addressed the gathering, expressing her pride in the rich heritage and culture of our country.

She emphasised on the dream of freedom of choosing and living equally.. She urged every student to do their bit and conscientiously work for the nation. She further went on to say that, if each Indian worked for the betterment of the country, it would reach its true potential.

The eventful day ended with feeling of pride and realisation to celebrate our great nation everyday. Jai Hind Jai Bharat.
