FRANK ANTHONY MEMORIAL All-INDIA INTER-SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION 2025

PRELIMINARY ROUND

CATEGORY I - (CLASS XI AND XII)

Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy hosted the preliminary round of prestigious Frank Anthony memorial all India Inter School English Debate Competition 2025, Category I (Class XI to XII)

The following twelve schools participated in the event, St. George's College, Mussoorie, Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie, St. Joseph's Academy, Dehradun, Convent of Jesus & Mary High School Dehradun, Cambrian Hall, Dehradun, Marshall School, Dehradun, St. Thomas College, Dehradun, The Heritage School, Dehradun, Unison World School, Dehradun, Mount Fort Academy, Dehradun, Graphic Era Global School, Dehradun and Agape Mission School, Rishikesh.

The chief guest of the event was Mrs. Pooja Pokhriyal, Managing Director, of Sunrise Academy and the secretary of Manthan Welfare Society, Mr. Martin Pawson Moderater, Mrs. Geetanjali Arya, Mrs. Swarleen Kaur and Mr. Sandeep Kumar were the judges for the competition.  

The topic of the debate was “A.I in Education will widen the gap between privileged and underprivileged students”.

The judges offered valuable insights into the scope and implications of the motion, helping students understand the broader societal impact of artificial intelligence in education. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Pokhriyal, in her address, commended the participants for their eloquence and encouraged them to continue engaging in such thought-provoking platforms.

The Moderator, Mr. Martin Pawson emphasised on the importance of demeanour, poise and body language in persuasive speaking, also encouraged students, audience members and office bearers to express themselves confidently and thoughtfully.

The Principal, Ms. Bharti Vishnoi, focused on importance of A.I as a tool to provide a new dimension in the field of education and also adviced students to be judicious regarding as the usage.

Winning team for the event was from St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun (Navya Bhatt and Anamitra Goswami)

1st runner up was St. George College, Mussoorie (Sagar Joshi and Shubhashish Gupta) and the best spea

ker was Navya Bhatt.
