FRANK ANTHONY MEMORIAL INTER SCHOOL ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION 2023

The Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter School English Debate Competition 2023 was hosted by Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy on behalf of the council for category II stage one pool B14 on10th July 2023 .The following eight  schools participated in the debate : Wyneberg-Allen, Mussoorie, St Joseph's Academy- Dehradun , St. George's College - Mussoorie, Mussoorie International School -Mussoorie,  Modern School, Rishikesh , St. Patricks Academy -Dehradun, Green Valley Public School-Dehradun,  The Aryan School -Dehradun. The Chief Guest for the day was Mrs. Indrani Lahiri. The debate was judged by a panel of three judges Dr Sakshi Gupta, Dr Swarleen Kaur and Mr. Okesh Chhabra. The competition was chaired by. Mr. M.D Bhaumik. The topic of the debate was ' Facebook friends have become more real than real friends '. All the speakers argued well. The best speaker was Samarth Kejriwal of St. George's College, Mussoorie. 1st Runnner Up speaker was Kushagra Aditya Jha of St. Joseph's Academy, Dehradun. The winning team was. St. Joseph's Academy and St. George's College, Mussoorie was adjudged as the Ist Runner Up Team. The programme concluded with the address of Principal-in-Chair Mrs. Bharti Vishnoi.

The students of Raja Rammohan Academy represented the school at Mussoorie International School - Category I and St. Joseph's Academy- Category II, The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from various esteemed schools across the country. Each school sent a team consisting of two or more debaters, representing both the proposition and opposition sides of the debated topics. Riddhi Gurung(12B) and Shambhavi Bisht(11B) for Category I and  Ananya Matta( 9D) and Manas Gulati(9A) for Category II, represented our school.
