15^th August – Independence Day Celebration – Senior Section

Independence Day Celebration at Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy 2024

The 78th Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August, 2024, at Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy with traditional fervour and gaiety. It is a remarkable day to honour our freedom fighters. The school premises were decorated to give a festive look. The Principal, Ms. Bharti Vishnoi, hoisted the flag at 8.00 am in the presence of the teachers, staff and students. As the tricolour unfurled, everyone present, sang the national anthem.

This was followed by the Head Girl’s speech, who addressed the students and invoked the names of the heroes who laid down their lives at the altar of India’s freedom and reflected on the journey of Independence since 1947. She also reminded us of the slogans of great leaders which inculcated patriotic feelings. Shivam Singh of Class XII also delivered a speech wherein, he spoke at length about the hopes and dreams of those great souls and regretted the fact that, common people are yet to realize the value of this freedom that we enjoy today.

A celebration is incomplete without a cultural program - students of classes VI and VII performed an energetic dance, creating a patriotic aura. “Ai Mere Watan Ke Logon” was sung by Lavanya of Class XII, a scintillating performance of ‘Vande Mataram’ composed by A.R Rehman, by the school band, mesmerised every one and a Kathak dance performance, which was an amalgamation of traditional values and modern ideas, was a stellar perfotmance.

 The Principal, Ms. Vishnoi concluded the function with her inspirational views and emphasized on character building, sympathy, sense of responsibility with integrity and selfless service towards our nation. A Vote of thanks was proposed by Dhairya Tiwari and sweets were distributed to the students. Everyone went home, murmuring the tune of Ai Mere Pyare Watan, praying for the prosperity of the Nation.
