“Chess holds its master in its own bonds, shackling the mind and brain so that the inner freedom of the very strongest must suffer” – Albert Einstein.

Chess is a mind game that teaches us a lot about life. It’s a sport that is not easy to master, however, with sheer practice, one can learn the skills of strategy and maneuvering through any difficult situation.

The prestigious DDPSA council Chess tournament took place at Ann Mary School on the 16th and 17th of August, 2024. The two-day event brought together a total of 19 schools from various corners of our city, each showcasing their talent and sportsmanship on the chessboard. The commendable performance of Team RRRA, in the tournament, must be applauded. Their hard work and dedication paid off, as they advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament, showcasing their strategic prowess and teamwork.

Furthermore, Manvi Chandel, a student of class VIII from Team RRRA clinched the prestigious runner-up position in the junior category. Her remarkable display of talent, intellect, and sportsmanship has brought honour, not only to herself but also, to her school.

Congratulations to all the participants, winners, and organizers for making this event a resounding success and it being a true celebration of the game of chess.
