Staff vs Students Cricket tournament 2023

A cricket tournament was organised between the school staff members and students of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy on 29 April 2023. The tournament was organised by the Sports Department of the school and was flagged off by the Officiating Principal, Ms Bharti Vishnoi who conveyed her best wishes to the teams.

In the first match, the Staff team won the toss and chose to bowl first. The students scored at a decent rate and notched up a total of 75 runs at a loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 12 overs with impressive batting display by Anshul Nautiyal and Mridul Durgapal.

The staff in reply were scintillating with the bat and took the students to the covers with some excellent batting from Mr Kuldeep and Mr Devendra Godiyal. They were able to chase down the score with 7 overs to spare and won the match by eight wickets.

The second match of the day between the women staff team and the school's girls' team saw a similar pattern unfold with the students batting first. They put up a total of 27 runs losing 4 wickets in the five over match. The staff yet again proved that old is gold and chased down the required total in 3 overs and won the match by seven wickets.

 The tournament proved to be a refreshing break from the academics both for the staff and students. It revealed itself to be a paradigm of what everyone ideally looks forward to - a fun thrilled Saturday,  brimming with competitiveness, sweat and cricket.

The tournament proved to be an important opportunity to communicate enthusiasm among the students and to build a strong relationship with the staff members. It rolled out to be a successful and exhilarating experience for both students and staff members and it was appreciated by everyone present.
