HARELA CELEBRATION

As a part of government of Uttarakhand’s programme   for increasing the forest cover and to restore the cultural values of the state, ‘Harela’, festival was celebrated in Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy, “Harela” is one of the important festivals of Kumaon region. This also highlights the respect and values of school towards the variety of traditions and cultures followed in India.  In Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy the day began with the morning assembly highlighting the importance of the festival. As per the Government guidelines five saplings of different varieties (Indian plum, guava, hibiscus, poinsettia and mango) were planted by the students on 15 July. Present on the occasion were the Officiating Principal, Ms Bharti Vishnoi; the Head Mistress, Ms Anju Bhalla; teachers, Ms Kawaljeet Kaur, Ms Manjari Mishra and the helping staff. The students expressed  their love and care for nature.

The main objective of the pragramme was to strengthen the bond between man and nature to create a clean and green environment.
